Old Business:  The trike show will still be held during the Freedom Trikers Trike Inn.  We are looking for tricycles to use for games during the trike inns.  The chapter is willing to pay if we can find some reasonably priced.  We need bigger ones for the adults as well.  We will go to Des Moines for the swap meet in February again this year. We enjoy discussing BTW and showing off our trikes.  The price of the booth isn't available yet.  We will be renting the Drakesville City Park for the 2009 Benefit.  Camping charge will be $10 and should cover the cost.  We will pay  additionally for the air conditioned pavilion.  We might split this cost with the food vendor.  We will collect for "Toys for Tots" and make donations to Food Pantries.

We picked Van Buren, Jefferson, Keokuk & Wapello Counties Food Pantries to receive donations of food or other necessities this year.  People in charge of this are:
Van Buren - Deb M.,  Jefferson - Tierney H.,  Keokuk - Dale,Deb,Jim & Sharon, Wapello - Glen and Becky K..  $100 will be spent for each county.  Please bring in your receipts.

Gene started a savings account with the money left over from the 2008 Benefit.

We are collecting for the "Toys For Tots" program again this year.  The toys are given to needy children in the Fairfield area.  At our November 23rd meeting a deputy sheriff will pick them up and explain how they are distributed.  Please remember to bring your toy donation to the next meeting.

Sandy R. needs funnies, pictures, etc. for the website.  freedomtrikerSHE@gmail.com

John & Rosalee E. thanked everyone who participated in the "Look to the Stars Ride" for cancer victims in Davis County on October 4th.  Davis County has the highest cancer rate recorded in Iowa and no one knows why.. There may be multiple rides for cancer next year.

We would like to get together just for fun later in the year when the camping season has slowed and it is cooler.  For example:  Keosauqua/Lacey park has cabins for $50 per night and the Ranger said we could do the games and it is beautiful there.

Events:
Our yearly Christmas Party will be held at the Community Building in Pleasant Plain again this year.  Sunday December 21st is the day we've chosen this year.  Everyone bring a covered dish and your own eating utensils.  We like to have people there around noon so we can eat at 12:30-1:00.  If you want to participate in the grab bag bring a $10 gift.  It can be nice or gag gift.  All adult gifts are put on a table and participants are given a number.  When your number is called you grab the gift you want.  Men may get cooking items and women may get tools.  Some of us like massaging slippers.  It was suggested that we add another step to the grab bag.  We could go by number and steal someone's gift.  No decision was made yet.

We need to know the names of children going to the Christmas party at the November meeting.  Adults draw the children's names.

The BTW/State of Iowa will need a new director to be voted into office in March 2009.  Gene Hanshaw is resigning the position.  If you are interested let Gene or Dave Hopman know.

There will not be an election at our November meeting.  All the positions were filled with willing participants.  We have 65 members now so (2) assistant directors were nominated, (2) sergeants at arms, (2) activity directors, (3) road captains, and (3) photojournalists were nominated.   The new Freedom Trikers Directory will be sent to you.

Shelby E., daughter of John & Rosalee E. had been left off the member list.  She is 16 and many of us have not had the pleasure of meeting her.

Happy Birthday!!!  Have a Special Day!!!
